The hand on the right belongs to one of my favorite people ever. This was taken when I was about 19 and she and I were both loved the band Say Anything so one spring we decided to that on our days off we would just fly to where ever they were playing a show. We made friends with a guy in one of the opening bands the first show we decided to go to and he decided that we weren’t crazy and put us on the guest list for the rest of the nights we ended up going to. (I believe we saw about 10 shows from Denver to Orlando) We decided that we needed something to be remembered by so she decided she would be “the girl in the red jeans” and I would be “the girl with different scarves.” We were silly. We would be so broke that we would go to a 24 hour coffee shop and read Vonnegut books aloud to each other because we didn’t have money for a hotel room. Or fly on airlines that we didn’t have partnerships with which is the reason for this picture. I don’t remember where we were trying to go but I remember we were stuck in Pittsburg and there was a storm coming and if we didn’t get on that Southwest flight we would have been stuck. What fools! We could have gotten in so much trouble. But I definitely would do it again.
